LOCATION

Venue for ceremony and reception was Georgia’s parents house/backyard. We wanted the wedding to feel intimate and personal and Georgia’s parents boho backyard felt like the perfect location.

Amelia Claire photography. We have both known and been friends with Amelia for years. She is so immensely talented and we were very lucky to have her shoot our wedding! We again wanted to have our wedding have such an intimate feel and who better to capture that than a good friend.

BRIDES DRESS

I was drawn to the Lou dress because to me it was the perfect combination of classic and modern boho. I’ve always adored silk and intricate beading. But I also love the simplicity of the design. Basically it was the first dress I saw that I just felt perfectly encapsulated my style.

ENGAGEMENT STORY

Ashley and I have been in love since we were fourteen and met in drama class, so it came as no surprise when (with all of our closest friends nearby) he got down on one knee nearly ten years later and asked me to marry him.

WEDDING THEME

The overall aesthetic was definitely modern boho. The house was white brick with Santorini blue windows, decorated with festoon lights, orchids, and eucalyptus. My dad’s handmade surfboards were on display with fairy lights draped over them and his prized Kombi van parked up on the front lawn.

FOOD & BEVERAGES

We went for a very chill, cocktail vibe in regards to the food and drink with wood fire pizza and homemade vodka punch. Everyone ate and drank the night away!

GIFTS REGISTRY

We went for a wishing well at our ceremony and reception and we received the most beautifully written cards and gifts from our guests. Opening the cards at the end of the night in our hotel room was one of the most special and beautiful parts of the day.

MEMORABLE MOMENT

The most memorable moment from our day was definitely our speeches. Our maid of honour and best man have been our best friends for many years and by the end of the speeches nearly everyone was in tears. All the words were so personal and heartfelt. It was a moment that none of us will ever forget.
