Lola Gown – Naomi & Rowan
COUPLE’S NAMES
Naomi Harris & Rowan Wells
Wedding Date
17 December 2017
LOCATION
Terara Riverside Gardens, Terara. We were drawn to this location because of the beautiful riverbank and lush green gardens, but mainly for the amazing willow tree! It was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, and the beauty of it allowed us to keep our decor minimal. The reception area was located just next to our ceremony on-site, so it was convenient for our guests and still set amongst the beautiful green meadows of Terara. I loved the fact that the reception area was a blank canvas – everything was plain and simple which allowed us to put a little of our own personality into it, but still keeping things natural and tying into the beautiful surroundings.

PHOTOGRAPHER
Scott Surplice Photography. I had seen Scott’s work in wedding magazines and was also so captivated by the way he captured moments throughout a wedding and how stunning and natural all of his photographs were. When we met Scott to discuss booking him, his laid back, friendly personality matched what we were looking for and throughout the entire lead up and on the day he was very professional and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera.

ENGAGEMENT STORY
Rowan proposed to me on our Babymoon in the Blue Mountains. I was about 6 months pregnant sitting in front of the fireplace when he dropped his knee. At first, I didn’t think he was serious because we have a very playful relationship, but then he pulled out the ring and from memory, the first thing I said was “shut up” and I started crying. At that moment it felt like we were the only two people in the mountains.
WEDDING THEME
Our Wedding Theme was beautiful yet simple with lots of natural earthy tones incorporated into all aspects. We both live a very natural lifestyle so this was a perfect reflection of that for us. The overcast day made it even more romantic than what we were hoping for and the day could have not been more perfect.
WEDDING RINGS
I wanted a super simple silver wedding band because my engagement ring is beautiful enough. Rowan’s ring was a silver matte band. They were made by a family friend.
WEDDING FAVOURS
I gave my bridesmaids silver sterling earrings from a local boutique and an essential oil perfume roller. The groomsmen received some silly socks to match each of their personalities to wear on the day.
FLOWERS & BOUQUETS
Both of us love greenery and have a simple style which is what inspired our decor and flowers. It was a very natural, earthy vibe and with the help of our stylist Piccolo and Poppi we got exactly what we were after.

CAKE
We chose a three-tier wedding cake with dried flowers. It was a caramel mud cake with cream filling and a white exterior.
WEDDING SONGS
We chose Angus and Julia Stone’s version of “Stay With Me”. Our DJ, The Vintage Stylus, had met with us in advance to discuss what type of music we wanted which as an end result we were really happy with every stage of the wedding and the music that had been dedicated to it. They matched our style perfectly and played a mix of funk, hip hop, and classic hits.
FOOD & BEVERAGES
We had a sit-down menu with a banquet. Our catering company, Duck Duck Goose Catering, was great and served both the food and beverages.
HONEYMOON
We stayed in a beautiful Airbnb cottage in Kangaroo Valley (Justine’s on Jarrett’s) which was everything we were looking for and more! The landscape was beautiful, surrounded by green hills and wildlife. It was not far from our wedding venue so we went straight there after our reception.
GIFTS REGISTRY
Rowan and I have been living together for quite a while so we decided to have a wishing well.

MEMORABLE MOMENT
There were several moments throughout our wedding day that were memorable. To name a few: watching my son walking down the aisle to his Dad and being in Rowans arms while we were doing the ring exchange, my mother walking me down the aisle, having fun with our bridal party, and feeling so free in the field where we took some of our wedding photos.
ADVICE FOR BRIDES-TO-BE
Make sure your day reflects your personality and who you both are. Whatever happens on the day happens, be present and soak up each stage of the day because its over in a flash! And remember to have fun!
