Hoeve Schellevliet – we immediately fell in love with this place, the food is so pure. They only use ingredients from their own fields.

GUEST TOTAL

For our ceremony we had 100 guests (20 inside and 80 outside) – For our reception we only had 20 guests because of COVID.

PHOTOGRAPHER

Anila Coba. We loved her because her pictures are very honest and natural. She created a very comfortable vibe. We showed her some inspiration pictures and she immediately understood what we wanted. Since we live on the Belgian Coast, we’ve decided to take pictures on the beach and it turned out so romantic.

BRIDE’S DRESS

ISRA wedding gown by Bo & Luca. I had seen it on Oui Bridal’s Instagram and fell in love with the ISRA the moment I saw it. When I tried it on, I fell even more in love. It was 100% what I had in mind. Not too girly but very charming with a little bohemian touch. Not a typical wedding dress but still very classy and unique. I could not stop looking at all the details.

BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES

Because of COVID, we couldn’t go shopping together but Zoom was real lifesaver. I wanted them to wear matching dresses but it was so important to me that they feel amazing and comfortable on the day. They looked so stunning!

WEDDING RINGS

My engagement ring was made by my friend who is a jewelry designer. It’s beautifully is set in gold with little diamonds. We had our simple gold wedding rings made by the same designer, who got them absolutely perfect. We love them so much and I love how they match.

WEDDING FAVOURS

We gifted our guests with tiny Prosecco bottles with our wedding invitation printed on, along with matching glasses – So that guests who came to the ceremony could raise their glasses in celebration at least once. When COVID is over, we can all celebrate together!

FLOWERS & BOUQUET

Since we could not have a real wedding party and ceremony, I did not have that many flowers but I had the most beautiful bouquet ever, made by Fleur de Lies. Just like my wedding dress, my bouquet was very bohemian and different.

WEDDING SONGS

We had the perfect first dance song in mind pre COVID – Parce que c’est toi from Axelle Red but performed live! I think I would have cried the entire song. But we will keep the idea in mind and once we can organize our wedding celebration, we will do it over!

HONEYMOON

We went to Sicily – Cefalu. Luckily we love Italy, so not a punishment at all! We had an amazing week full of amazing food, long walks, a lot of sun, boat trips and friendly people.

ADVICE FOR BRIDES-TO-BE

It is your day – plan it the way you want to! It does not matter whether you want a lot of guests of just only your closest friends, whether you want red or white flowers, whether you want it traditional or bohemian. You only have one day to celebrate, make it count, make it yours!
And keep in mind, you can’t control it all, make sure you are surrounded by people you love.
