A laidback but sophisticated, bohemian wedding ceremony in Kalmoesfontein, in Paardeberg. This couple’s first dance was to Tougher than the Rest and in the true spirit of the unique Bo & Luca bride, Prisca and Jurgen headed to Sussurro in Mozambique for their honeymoon, before they got married!

MARRIAGE FOR US MEANS
Putting the puzzle together!
HOW WE MET
“I was in South Africa for a friend’s wedding in November 2018. While travelling a few days before with some friends from Europe, our group ended up in the Swartland visiting some winemakers. I had already checked Jurgen out out online and had liked what I saw…we met in Riebeeck Kasteel the week before the wedding, visiting his vineyards and then went back to his place for a braai.”
Jurgen called Prisca the next day to go for a date in Cape Town and the two met again before she flew back to Europe. Little did Prisca know that he would arrive unexpectedly 20 days later! Thereafter it was three years of back and forth, with Covid in-between.
HOW WE GOT ENGAGED
He first told me he wanted to marry me in a cocktail bar in Barcelona…after quite a few dirty Martinis, and in his strong Afrikaans accent, he told me “as long as you marry me…”
He then officially proposed on a random Wednesday afternoon while walking on the beach in Paternoster, a place we always loved travelling to.

Prisca had been following Bo & Luca’s Instagram page for a while, and on the day Jurgen proposed, the new bride-to-be opened her IG account and realised that we had opened the doors to our latest bridal boutique in Cape Town!
“I booked an appointment immediately, and got the dress that same day!”
My sister and best friend wore a dress from Zara, and my sister-in-law wore a piece from Mango
ADVICE TO BRIDES-TO-BE
…Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and take in every moment as it will go by so fast!
MOST TREASURED MOMENT OF MY WEDDING DAY
So many! But absolutely loved our first dance…..I was against it, and really didn’t want to but it was actually a beautiful moment. Listening to all the speeches was also a very special moment and I strongly advise to put in as many as you can….it makes a wedding warm and you get to know the couple much more. We had a shot of mezcal with my uncle who walked me down the isle and my sister before walking down. That was also quite a unique moment! And my 91 year old grandmother travelling all the way from Europe!
