Our Top 5 Engagement Stories From Our Bo & Luca Brides

There is nothing more special than a perfect engagement. At that moment, it’s just you and your partner, saying yes to forever and looking forward to what the future holds for you as a couple. As we love romantic proposal stories, we have rounded up five of the most swoon-worthy engagement stories from our Bo & Luca real brides.

Naomi & Rowan

Rowan proposed to me on our Babymoon in the Blue Mountains. I was about six months pregnant, sitting in front of the fireplace when he dropped his knee. At first, I didn’t think he was serious because we have a very playful relationship, but then he pulled out the ring, and from memory, the first thing I said was “shut up”, and I started crying. At that moment, it felt like we were the only two people in the mountains.

Brooklyn & Benjamin

In May 2017, the day after we moved into our first New York apartment together. Ben popped the question on our new balcony after spending the evening sipping wine, eating cheese, and watching the sunset. After finishing a bottle, or two, he asked me to grab some more wine from the kitchen, and when I returned he was on his knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes, and I knew I would be spending the rest of my life with the man of my dreams!

Emma & Sam

Sam woke me up at sunrise on the morning of the 4th of January 2018 to go to the beach. We were on our Christmas/NY break in our hometown, so it’s the rare time of the year when all of our family and closest friends are in one city. We set our towels down at the beach and went for a little walk – I decided to dip my toes in, and when I turned back around, Sam was on one knee. We celebrated together with a long Champagne breakfast at our favourite, Il Lido in Cottesloe, followed by a joint family dinner at Bib & Tucker in North Fremantle.

Corey & Matt

Such plans in the time of COVID-19 are unpredictable, and we were supposed to be on an extended Italian vacation over the summer that was inevitably postponed. Matt told me after the fact that he was planning to propose during that trip! Either way, he’d planned a hike for us to a nearby greenbelt and was very stressed out the entire time. He was on his phone most of the hike and was desperate to find the best spot to “take a cute picture of the dogs.” I was completely surprised when he was suddenly down on one knee and gave me a gorgeous ring, asked me to marry him, and his brother was hiding nearby to capture the moment. I would have said yes regardless of the setting.

Juante & Stefano

Stefano proposed to me on our 7th anniversary at a game farm in the Cederberg, just outside of Cape Town. One of the game rangers stopped us on our way to dinner to say they had spotted a leopard and could take us to see it if we would like to. As this is such a rare sighting, I was keen to go. This was actually a ploy to get me to a beautiful abandoned shepherd’s cottage in the middle of nowhere, where he proposed and we spend the rest of the evening. It was perfect!
