Manhattan Sample | 12AU

The Manhattan gown is a truly breathtaking piece. Entirely hand-beaded and hand-embroidered, it is adorned with hundreds of 3-D flowers, accented with beads and trailing lines created in glass beads, faux pearls and sequins. Fitted through the bodice the gown skims the hips, cascading out into a regal train. The lining has a sweetheart neckline, leaving the décolletage and sleeves sheer. The impeccably tailored sleeves are edged with a subtle scallop and end at the wrist. The open back is secured with fine bias ties and fastens with an invisible zip at the centre.

This sample is in a worn, preloved condition. There are some loose beads, and a few of the embroidered flowers are unravelling, however, due to the fully beaded nature of this dress - this is not very noticeable. There is a slight fabric tear at the base of the zipper which could be repaired by a seamstress. Some of the sequins have yellowed with age and the beads have oxidised slightly. The hue of the silk has also darkened a little and is ivory in colour, rather than off-white.
