ROSA BRIDE // CARLY & ERIC

With a vision of getting married in a naturalistic, woodsy setting, Carly and Eric’s wedding at Gather Greene in Coxsackie, NY, was nothing short of unique and breathtaking.

With acres of land and a pavilion and cabins overlooking the Berkshire Mountains, and as music lovers who had attended Bluegrass festivals all over the country, the couple couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate their love through a ‘festival’ themed wedding.

Wildflowers, antique furniture, vintage rugs, a customized tapestry, personalised wristbands, brochures, and ‘festival maps’ upon arrival, and more!

MARRIAGE TO US MEANS

Having a partner to hold hands with throughout this crazy thing called life and loving each other unconditionally during all of it.

HOW WE MET

Eric and I grew up in the same town but were only acquaintances until about 12 years later when I attended one of his shows (Eric plays in a local Bluegrass band, Dark City Strings). Six months later we were dating, and two years after that we were married!

HOW WE GOT ENGAGED

Eric and I live in Asbury Park, NJ… a vibrant beach town known for its music, art scene and local shops. One afternoon Eric asked me to go on a bike ride around Asbury (something we do often). We biked to a little walking bridge and got off our bikes to walk to the other side. When we approached the center of the bridge Eric suggested we stop and take a picture. When I turned around, he was down on one knee! Little did I know, our family and friends were watching the engagement on a local rooftop bar called Asbury Biergarten and cheered for us from above after I said yes! We celebrated with them on the rooftop afterward. It was one of the best days of my life because it was the start of our life together.

The bride visited Abigail Bride and said that her experience was amazing, “The owner is so sweet and nice and I had the whole store to myself.”

After immediately spotting the Bo & Luca gown, Carly tried on other dresses first, ones that were more traditional.

“There was just something about the Rosa gown I was drawn to… As soon as I put it on, I was in love. It was so flattering, unique and just effortlessly beautiful. I remember not wanting to take it off and decided right there that the Rosa gown was the one. I never felt more beautiful.”

ADVICE TO BRIDES-TO-BE

As overwhelming as wedding planning can be, remember the reason why you are doing it. You are marrying your person and that’s what matters most. Everything else is secondary. So take a breath and have fun with it! You are about to embark on the next phase of your life with the person you love and will celebrate it in your own, unique way.

MOST TREASURED MOMENT OF MY WEDDING DAY

There was a moment when Eric and I stood back and watched the reception from the outside. After initially rescheduling our wedding due to Covid and waiting an extra year, it was surreal to see our vision, the sun setting, the band playing, and the people we love dancing and laughing. We did it, and our love is what brought it all together. We just looked at each other with so much love and gratitude and it felt so nice to have that moment with my husband.
