This month we have decided to give you all a sneak peak into Shannon’s new life in Cape Town. We’ve put together a few questions for Bo & Luca’s creative director. Have a read below to see what she had to say!

Where to eat?

There are so many great places to eat and drink in Cape Town, this city has the best food culture. A place that I visit often and always enjoy is Jonkershuis Restaurant in Groot Constantia. You can sit outside under the large oak trees and look out over the the view that stretches out over the Constantia valley.

Where to drink?

There is a great little place at the top of the Constantia Hill towards Hout Bay called La Parada, it always has really great atmosphere and is in the sun for a casual weekend vibe.

Where to hangout during the day?

If you love hanging out at local cafes and people watching, I would suggest Kloof Street. There are lots of little bar and cafes. If you love nature, I would suggest going for a hike up one of the many mountains we have here. A favourite of mine is Lions Head, if I  wake early to watch the sunrise, or a walk up Chapmans peak to watch the sunset. Otherwise venture out to one of the vineyard areas in Stellenbosch or Franschoek.

 Art, music & culture?

Cape Town has a huge creative hub of people. I love the Woodstock / Salt River area. A great place to see young and up and coming designers. There is also a new gallery space called the Silo located close to the waterfront, the architecture of this building is incredible.

Where to shop?

There are lots of great local designers here in Cape Town, I always love the smaller boutiques to the Mall. One of my favourite places to find vintage treasure is from a small Kundalini Yoga studio in Park Street, Tamboerkloof. I also love homewares, so I would suggest visiting some of the local homeware stores on Kloof Street.

Getting around?

I would suggest if you are visiting the city, hire a car as its an easy city to drive around. Otherwise I would use Uber which is very efficient here.

Favourite thing about Cape Town?

The ocean, the mountain and the energy of the people in this city. This is a wonderful city if you are a creative, so much to see and do and a great collaborative space for designers.
