Our beautiful Bo & Luca gowns are available to purchase in the French Riviera. We spoke to the owners of Sixtine in Nice about their future goals and the latest bridal trends according to them.
HOW DID YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THE BRIDAL INDUSTRY?
I (Lisa) used to work in the events industry and fell in love with weddings, so I became a wedding planner. Ingrid always had a love for photography and became a wedding photographer and that’s how we met and became friends. For a long time, we had this dream of opening a bridal studio in our minds but never got the courage to do it. Then all of a sudden we felt it was the right moment, and we did it. Obviously being already in the wedding industry definitely helped, we know what brides are looking for, we have good knowledge of our local brides and know how to put them at ease.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR BOUTIQUE?
We wanted our studio to be a little cocoon for brides and their loved ones, we went with white and pure tones, and natural materials such as linen, marble with a touch of greenery. Our aim was for our brides to feel at home, and be able to speak for themselves, without any boundaries. We would say the overall look is simple, cozy and elegant.
LESS OR MORE?
Definitely less! Less can be accessorised and the focus can go into details, a beautiful beading, a detailed veil, or a stunning open back. To us, simple is beautiful and elegant.
WHAT’S THE BIGGEST BRIDAL TREND OF THE SEASON?
We think that this season we will see more simplicity and focus on details. Not overdone gowns but a good balance between a simple cut and elegant details.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FUTURE GOALS?
We are hoping to take care of a lot of brides, make them happy and help them find the gown of their dreams. Brides on the French Riviera don’t have much choice as there is a lack of bridal stores. We won’t be filling that gap but we are hoping to give them a diverse choice with brands like Bo & Luca which are not on sale in France.
WHO WOULD BE YOUR DREAM BRIDE TO DRESS?
If we had to choose one woman to dress for her wedding, we would say Natalie Portman. She has this elegance in every circumstance and she always looks so pure and refined. We’re pretty sure anything would look good on her, but why not a dress with soft tulle and an open back that would lie perfectly on her skin!
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D LEAVE WITH BRIDES IN SEARCH OF THEIR PERFECT WEDDING GOWN?
Be yourself! Don’t try to be someone you are not on your wedding day. That can be a big regret. Listen to yourself and what your heart tells you. If you feel beautiful in it, you will look beautiful!
OF ALL THE BRANDS AND DESIGNERS, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE BO & LUCA?
We have had a big love for Bo & Luca for many years now since this project popped into our minds. We always loved how the Bo & Luca gowns ally a touch of bohemian with such an elegant style. So many brides can identify themselves in Bo & Luca, whether they are working women, elegant, bohemian, travelers… And knowing that each gown is handmade makes them even more special, you feel like you are holding a piece of love in your hands.
