A stunningly fresh wedding at Ottimo House in Denham Court, Sydney, was held to celebrate the love between Ayse and Yusuf. The two first met at a family barbecue in 2013 and later down the line Yusuf went with his family for a Turkish ceremony, to ask for her hand in marriage, “He brought red roses and chocolate (along with the ring). Then his father asks for my hand from my father. It is a part of the tradition for me to make a really badly tasting cup of Turkish coffee at this point, symbolising that Yusuf is able to take both good and bad from me. I served his coffee with salt and pepper in it, and he drank it all! We then exchanged rings and we were engaged!”

PHOTOGRAPHY
Our photographer was Raiyan and Emily who works with Farah and Azizah Co. They are just the best team ever! I highly recommend them for any event you may have. Azizah was super attentive to all our requests and easy to talk to which is a quality you need in a photographer as they are such a big part of the wedding day.
Our videographer was Tom, Jade and James from HoneyBear Films and they were lovely. They made my husband and I feel comfortable and at ease. Sometimes we forgot they were there! We have been in contact with James to ensure our wedding highlight film is perfect, and he has been great at listening to our requests.
WEDDING AESTHETIC/STYLE
Our wedding style was fresh, beautiful and humble. We chose to have flowers, candles and fairy lights all over our venue. It was beautiful and really set an intimate vibe. We chose to have our ceremony outdoors in nature.
“One day when I was around 19, scrolling on Instagram, I came across a wedding, and the bride was wearing a beautiful and simple dress. Her dress was by Bo and Luca. I started following the brand that day!”
Once the bride got engaged, she took another look online and saw our Angelica gown, exclaiming that it swept her off her feet. She got in touch with her nearest stockist, Maggie at Your Art Bridal at Thirroul in NSW, and went to try the wedding dress on once it had arrived in-store. With a few adjustments and customisations including a longer train, Ayse’s gown was made for her;
“Everyone who saw my dress knew it was made for me! Classy, elegant, whimsical, and fun. I Couldn’t have asked for a better dress, or better designer. Maggie was especially helpful with every aspect of the dress and customisation as well as reassuring me that it would turn out perfect.”

WEDDING DAY ACCESSORIES
On the wedding day, I had my mum's engagement ring which was super special. I also had a simple gold tennis bracelet and that was it! My dress was already super detailed, so I felt that less was more in terms of accessories.
WEDDING RINGS
My engagement ring stone was sourced from the USA and set at a local jeweler here in Sydney. It is the most beautiful ring I have ever set my eyes on. My now-husband and I designed it together. With a super-thin band, high setting, and dainty claws, it really is my dream ring. My husband’s ring is platinum and has a cute little diamond in it – symbolic of my diamond so we always carry a part of each other even when we are apart. Lastly, my wedding band was from the cutest jeweler store in Paddington called ‘Baby Anything’ which stands for ‘Baby, I’d do anything for you', making the band even more special. They have the best collection, and the girls in the store were so lovely to work with. The band really compliments my engagement ring, and it is my dream stack.
HAIR & MAKEUP
My makeup artist was Yen Hoang. Again, she is the best in the business. I wanted to look and feel like me, and ensure my makeup was really natural but long-lasting, which it was. She was amazing, I have never felt more beautiful than I did on that day.
WEDDING SCENT
My wedding day scent was by ‘The Floral Street’ which is found in Mecca Maxima stores. The scent was wild vanilla and orchid and it is honestly THE most amazing scent ever.
MOST TREASURED MOMENT OF MY WEDDING DAY
The whole day was perfect. The slow dance was super special and one of our favorites, closely followed by hearing the drums at my door indicating that my husband was at my house ready to pick me up, and finally, seeing my husband for the first time.
WEDDING SONGS
My husband and I are big fans of RnB artists, so our special songs were mostly in this genre. We walked into ‘Dilemma’ by Nelly, and our slow dance was ‘Differences’ by Ginuwine.
FLOWERS & BOUQUETS
My bouquet was inspired by my favorite Tv show ‘Jane the Virgin’. I showed one picture to my florist Flora and Maple with some notes on how I wanted the bouquet to be girly and mostly pink. They took that picture and my notes and created the dreamiest bouquet. They were beautiful. Perfect, really.
For my venue and house styling, I went with Noha from Petaled Pretty. She was amazing, easy to talk to, and helpful in every avenue of the wedding. She made my home, arbor, guest tables and the main table looked amazing, dreamy, and like something out of a fairy tale. I highly recommend both Flora and Maple and Petaled Pretty.
FAVORS
Our favors were chosen by my husband, the matches were perfect and punny! We also had some beautiful-looking and tasting cookies on each table.
